The Marple Website is proud to have been involved in or supported numerous community projects since it began in 1998. The more recent ones are detailed here. Raising funds for local charities
A new booklet has been published by local artist and writer Chris Hague that will raise funds for local charities, including New Horizons.
The booket costs £5 and ALL money raised will go to local causes.

Churches Together to restore Mellor Cross on Cobden Edge
This local landmark on Cobden Edge has for the past two years been a T shape, since storms in December 2015 blew off the top which was found to be rotten.
As the cross was originally erected in March 1970 by the then Marple Council of Churches, the Churches in the area have taken on the responsibility of restoring it.

£298,000 Raised to save "Thumb" Community Pub
The Marple Website can't claim huge credit for the success of this project but since learning of its impending closure, back in October 2016, has tried hard to use the Community Forum and Social Media to promote the pub's plight and support the campaign to save it.
Like many other local people, the web site has also shown its support for the plans to turn it into a community pub by putting hand-in-pocket and investing £1,000 to become a share holder.

Marple Defibrillator News 16 March 2022
The defibrillator at Marple Cinema was recently deployed for the sixth time since it was installed. The one in the phone box on Lower Fold in Marple Bridge has been deployed three times whilst the one on the side of the Cafe / Warden Office in Compstall has been deployed twice.
Please be aware of where your nearest local Defibrillator is, as it can save lives!

Funding opportunity for Marple Area Groups
