1964 to 1966
The period from 1964 to 1969 was the busiest time for Frank's record keeping and there are so many reports and photographs that we have split it into two categories. This one begins with the new school term in September 1964 and runs until the end of 1966. Most of the photographs taken during this period have been linked to individual walks apart from a few in 1964, which are used to fill gaps.
Horrible Hill
The following members: F R Mason, Tony Mason, John Durham, and others travelled by train to Edale and thence across the fields and landslide to Crowden Brook. Tony left as at the landslide as, having been on a night ramble, he found another trek to be a bit much.
The main group scrambled up Crowden Brook, played around at the Letter Box before plugging across the bog to the Kinder Stream and so to the Downfall. We scrambled down the side of the Downfall to follow the stream down to the reservoir, up Horrible Hill, and past the reservoir and so into Hayfield.

Bakewell
The party boarded an early train for Bakewell from Marple; arrived Bakewell before 9 o'clock. It seemed that we had a good long day ahead of us and ample time to cover our 19 - 20 miles.
The leader bought a new pipe in Bakewell - he's poor company without his pipe.

A fine moonlit night (near to full moon) - we walked out of Hayfield along the usual track, and forked across the fields to the steep climb to the summit of Mount Famine, where we stayed awhile. Despite the fine weather, it was cold with half a gale blowing.
