CGI of Marple's Iron Bridge in Brabyns Park
Fly-through 200 years of the bridge's history in 3.5 minutes
The film below was originally created in 2007/8 by Take 27 Ltd as part of the Brabyns Park Iron Bridge Restoration Project, a partnership between The Marple Website, Marple Local History Society and Stockport Council. Back then files were too large for normal Internet download and storage but broadband and data connections today means that those problems are no longer an issue.
So at last the film can be shared as part of the Iron Bridge Restoration Project Diaries on The Marple Website. The CGI has always been available to view at Staircase House, and still is, along with other material from the project including the documentary film and 3D model.
Latest chapter: the Iron Bridge is at risk again...
Christmas 2022 seems a fitting time to share this short film depicting the main chapters of the bridge's story up to completion of the restoration, as the Iron Bridge is at risk again and we are currently waiting for some serious remedial works to get fully underway in the New Year.
