The Middlewood Way
The Middlewood Way offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including walking, cycling, horse riding, birdwatching and picnicking. For horse riders the Way offers a traffic-free ride all the way from Marple to Bollington, along the specially constructed bridleway. The way is also open to cyclists and provides the ideal opportunity for a quiet and enjoyable family outing. Picnic sites exist at various points along the trail and cycle hire is available from Grimshaw Lane, Bollington.
The Middlewood Way, formerly the Macclesfield, Bollington and Marple (MBM) Railway, is managed jointly by Stockport MBC and Macclesfield Borough Council, through their respective Warden/Ranger services.
