Hawk Green Residents Association

H.G.R.A. is a community group formed by local residents with the objective of maintaining and improving Hawk Green as a great place to live.

Hawk Green was a village in its own right until the new houses merged it into Marple, but we still maintain that village feel and want to keep it that way. It was said in the past that we had every shop apart from a Chemist, and it was true, but as times change unfortunately we have lost some of the shops now, but have a thriving Cricket Club, a Village Hall (Reading Room), Pub - The Crown, and the Ridge Methodist Church on the Hill.

Our meetings are a chance to air your views and concerns regarding local issues and problems can be taken up by our Local Councillors who report back to us. We also get regular Police updates on crime in the area, and plan work parties like bulb planting, litter picking, path clearing etc. We hold our Maypole Festival on The Green in May every year to raise funds for our over 70s Christmas Party.

MEETINGS ARE HELD BI-MONTHLY on a Monday at 19.00 in HAWK GREEN CRICKET CLUB, UPPER HIBBERT LANE. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
