General aims of GVRUA
GVRUA campaigns for better rail services on the Goyt Valley lines (Manchester Piccadilly to New Mills via Bredbury and to Rose Hill Marple via Hyde). We believe that station staff should be retained, that trains should continue to have a second member of staff on board, and that safety and access should be optimised for all passengers, especially women, younger people and anyone with disabilities.
GVRUA’s priorities for improved service on our lines:
- Restoration of a half-hourly service to Rose Hill Marple
- Better early and late services
- Better Sunday services
Formed in 1993, the Association is a purely voluntary and independent organisation. It is politically neutral and receives no income other than the contributions of its membership. The Association engages in a constructive dialogue with railway service providers and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM).
Annual subscription: £5.00 Individual - £6.00 Household - £10 Corporate
