Club lucky to be able to use Zoom to stay in touch
We have been lucky in being able to set up Zoom links with a couple of speakers recently. At the end of February, Kurt Thomas spoke to us about “Drone Photography”. We were shown landmarks in our local area that were photographed from above and at a distance and this gave a completely different perspective to the view as we are used to.
In March, Craig Wright will give us a talk on “Strines and the Railway Children”.
Noel Pollard has been awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship for his length of service and work within Rotary.
The Club has been involved in the End Period Poverty campaign
Every month many women and girls all over the world are unable to afford to buy sanitary protection, which means a lot of them are unable to attend school or go to work for those few days each month when they are blighted by the curse of their period.
With the help of New Mills Co-op, who have very kindly allowed us to place this collection box in their store, we have been able to distribute sanitary products to local Food Banks for onward distribution to those in need.
