Annual Rose Bowl Golf Competition
New Mills, Marple and District Rotary Club held their annual Rose Bowl Golf Competition at Mellor and Townscliffe Golf Club on Monday 1st July.
John Delany (President) presenting the donation to CLIC Sargent
The day stayed dry despite the threat of rain but the golfers were determined to play their best golf and raise money for the chosen charity which this year was CLIC Sargent. CLIC Sargent fights tirelessly to stop cancer destroying young lives. They work hard to help when each child and young person needs it most. CLIC Sargent care teams work with young people and families to help them with vital financial support through grants and benefits that they are entitled to. They also help liaise with young people’s employers and sort out housing issues to keep families together, because day-to-day life doesn’t stop when you have cancer. CLIC Sargent helps patients to thrive, not just survive. The winning team (the Carpet Baggers) was made up of Stuart Fearnley, Keith Robertson, Sam Harper and Steve Jackson, seen below with President John Delany.
A wonderful raffle helped to raise further funds.
The Rotary Club would like to thank all who supported the event and especially for all the help given to us by Mellor and Townscliffe Golf Club.
