Building a new sleigh for Christmas!
During the few months leading up to Christmas a few members were busy building a new Father Christmas sleigh in readiness for our annual Christmas collections. The beginning of December saw members erecting the Nativity Crib in New Mills. It was great to see families looking at the figures in the crib and the story of Christmas being explained to the children.
The Rotary Christmas Sleigh
On 9th December we started the Christmas collections in earnest by Father Christmas in sleigh visiting the Asda store in Marple. During the following days house to house collections took place in Marple, Disley and New Mills together with further store collections at Asda and Tesco in Whaley Bridge.
The Club wishes to thank all the staff and customers at Asda, Marple and Tesco, Whaley Bridge for their kind help and all who supported the house to house collections for their generous donations.
In January we have some interesting speakers booked:
11th January - Mystery Shopper, Keith Vigour, “Checking on Shops, Garages and even Undertakers”
25th January - George Cope’s Trip to Canada
The meeting on 18th January will be for Fellowship.
