For 170 years the Ridge Methodist Church has stood overlooking Hawk Green- serving as a centre for Christian worship and a place where many find faith, hope, and friendship. In a distinctive way it has always been something of a "people's church", having been built by local people who quarried the stone themselves and did their own carting and labouring. Today, although the church building is old and lovingly maintained, it is neither a museum nor a relic. Instead it is a lively, active and thriving church, dedicated to the service of God and the community of Hawk Green.
2005 saw the building of our extension at the rear of the church. Access from the car park leads to our new entrance porch and then into the bright and airy concourse. Off this area we now have a meeting room and extended kitchen, from where we can serve our legendary afternoon teas and cater for many other functions as well. A new vestry has also been incorporated along with new toilet facilities. The building is now easily accessible to those with mobility problems.
Regular events include Little Fishes, a group for children aged 0-11 and their parents.
If you would like to find out more about our Church you are always welcome to come and visit us on any Sunday at 10.30am for Morning Service - you will be made very welcome.

The new meeting rooms are available for hire by the local community for various activities e.g. Art Classes, Children's Parties, Teacher Training Days, Handicraft classes etc, etc. We really want it to be come a major part of the Hawk Green Community and not just a building that is used on Sundays.
The Ridge Church and surrounding Churches also use the rooms for Quiet Days, Churches together Meetings and functions.
