During March our speaker was Andrew Williams from the Rotary Club of Tameside talking about an eye project that has been set up in Bangladesh which is well supported by his club.

At the beginning of the month our President gave us the first part of a talk and slide show about his trip to Australia last year. Mike is particularly interested in traditional trains and of course his trip had included a long rail trip from Darwin to Adelaide which took 4 days and covered a distance of over 2,500 kilometres.

On 21st March we held our 73rd Charter Dinner at Mellor and Townscliffe Golf Club with entertainment provided by Karl Seth.

In April we shall be holding our Annual General Meeting when reports will be given from each Committee Chairman on the year’s hard work.

Our speaker on 18th April is Lisa Smart who is the Liberal Candidate for Hazel Grove. As Rotary is none political we should at least escape the topic of Brexit!!

At the end of the month some of our members will be attending the District Assembly which is to be held at University of Bolton Stadium.
