Marple Cricket and Squash Club

Marple Cricket & Squash Club was formed in approximately 1864, and has been based at it's Bowden Lane headquarters since 1951. The club is a member of the Cheshire County Cricket League and currently plays in division one. The Club runs five senior teams, the First, Second and the Marple/Mellor XI playing on Saturdays, and the Third and Fourth teams on Sundays, in division three of the Cheshire County League.

We also have a thriving Junior section with teams at under 11's, under 13's, under 15's and under 17's. The under 11's winning their league in 2003. Even the youngest players (under 9's) are catered for with mini-cricket sessions on Monday nights.

"Is cricket a girls' sport?", well it certainly is at Marple Cricket & Squash Club!! Our under 13's girls have represented Cheshire in the 2009 "Lady Taverners" competition, the only national girls competition, and achieved first place ! If you are interested in joining our girls or Junior team(s), please contact Hannah Vaughan or the Junior Organiser, Philip Withers.

The club also has an over 40's team, playing league games on Wednesday evenings.

The members bar area is equipped with a large screen HD TV and is complemented by the 5m HD screen in the Function Hall. Both TV's have Sky Sports HD and ESPN HD. We also have a free to use Wifi connection for use with laptops, PDA's and mobile phones.
