Introducing a New Musical Theatre Choir led by Deborah Woodruff that finally launches in Marple on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm from 23 February 2022.
Everyone has missed singing. Many concerts and local operatic shows have had to be cancelled or postponed. So what do we do to get singing again? We join "The Show Must Go On" choir for a weekly sing to enjoy our wonderful Musical Theatre Repertoire.
Being a Musical Theatre choir means it's important to sing to an audience and so there will be a Summer Concert in a theatre. This will be when we will showcase the repertoire that we have been learning.
Some of you may already be involved with local Amateur Operatic Societies, Gang Shows etc, so I want to emphasise that, having been the Musical Director of many, many local Operatic performances, I totally understand about wanting to get up on the stage. That is why I am structuring the year into two halves. Spring and Autumn. So you can be in an Am Dram show in the Autumn and to blow away those post-show blues you can come and join us for the Spring half of the year. And obviously, vice versa! To allow for flexibility, every half term we will learn something from a different musical, making it easy to miss part of the year, but still be in the end of year concert.
"The Show Must Go On" is a choir for confident singers aged 18 and over. You don't need to be part of the Amateur Operatic world to join us. We will rehearse through term time in the centre of Marple for a weekly fee of £7.50 invoiced every half term. Music will be provided and recordings of each vocal part will be available via a Dropbox link.
