What they say about themselves:
The Spring Gardens was acquired by Martin and Samantha in late 2015 and opened its doors to the public under its new guise in early March 2016.

The couple first came across the pub whilst staying in Marple with a family friend just before they started work on The Hope Inn and when they found out it was on the market, knew it would be their ideal second pub. Both Martin and Samantha have worked within the pub trade for many years and achieved a fair bit along the way. Martin has won Camra Pub of The Year 4 times at 3 different venues, and Camra Cider Pub of The Year twice, amongst various other awards.

Samantha also has several years in the trade, working closely along side Martin, but in parts working in her own right when and where needed. The Spring Gardens is very much a long term project for the couple, with the pub set in 4.2 acres of land which encompasses a bowling green, a huge beer garden, car park and woodland, the possibilities are endless.

The general plan for The Spring Gardens is not to reinvent the wheel, the couple want to bring their multi-award winning philosophy to Marple Bridge and just run a great pub, with a great atmosphere and great food & beer!

We are proud to take the iconic building forward and write another chapter in history and showcase the pubs past, present and future. Eventually Martin & Samantha would like to reinstate the petting zoo with-in the grounds and they also have plans to grow their own fruit and veg to supplement the kitchen, but at this stage that is very much a project for the future. The couple are under no illusions that it will be hard work at times, but they invite you to join them on their continuing journey.
