Your local volunteer-run Hydro Power scheme has been producing renewable energy on the River Goyt since 2012. Feeding power directly into the Local then National Grid, creating an income to maintain the scheme, pay a return to investors and contribute to their Environmental Challenge fund. Volunteers will reveal the quirks and complexities involved in such a fascinating venture.
Parking is available at Dobbies Garden Centre, Dooley Lane or Vale Road Car Park.
